We have come to see ourselves as separate entities from mother earth, while in truth we are completely dependent on her, we are one with her. Even though we take her for granted we are held by her each moment of our life. She is life. One of the reasons for our separation from mother earth is our separation from ourselves. When we lose contact with our true being, we feel disconnected to everything, we experience an emptiness and a void that have many different expressions, be it frustration, depression, anxiety, addiction, or other forms of disease and suffering. We try to fill the emptiness with external substitutes, but nothing can really silence that void other than reconnect to ourselves and mother earth.

Some of us awaken from the top down and others from the bottom up. Wherever you start your spiritual journey, grounding and anchoring the new energy into your body is key. Without staying in the body no in depth healing will occur, of course we can heal parts of our etheric body, astral body etc., but without connecting into the emotional layers and the physical body, we will not be able to embody the transformation, hence we will not live it here on earth.

We all have experienced the feeling of being drained by a situation or a person. It is easy to create a scape goat andput the blame on the person that in our experience drained us from energy – “the energy thief”. However, since we obey under the “laws of the universe” these experiences are perfectly orchestrated for us and by ourselves. Had we not had the wounds/blockages around that specific area the draining of energy touches, we would never be drained of energy. So, our greater selves attract situations where we can be healed. Of course, this takes some openness, curiosity and experience to discover, and it also helps to have developed the inner observer, the part pf you that can observe yourself with a greater perspective, to be able to catch these situations in the moment or shortly after.

When we are un-grounded, we easily loose our power, just imagine a tree with thin and fragile roots, the moment a strong wind hits the tree, it will fall. Likewise, that tree with fragile roots will have difficulties keeping nourished and keeping its energy for long. When we are grounded, we can hold our energy longer, we feel centered, more balanced and can easily separate our own energy from others – we simply become clearer on who we are.

In the first phases of awakening when we start opening up and explore new frequencies, it is tempting to search for high states of being. It usually takes time and some spiritual maturity to realize the difference between going higher and going deeper, and that choosing to go deeper instead of higher is a much shorter journey.

One reason for not grounding is that some of us have the feeling that it is not safe to be in the body. Often our experience of different traumatic events creates a feeling of not being safe in the body, and the notion that other dimensions offers a peaceful sanctuary. However, most of us come to realize that the true healing is to be found in the present state and in the body, but it can take some time to get there depending on the degree of trauma held.

Before we learn the rhythm of anchoring and grounding, life can be very draining and confusing. To be grounded is a state of being and a frequency, and you can remind your system to enter that state by using different tools. As always, we are all different, and what someone else use might not apply to your system, let the list below inspire you and explore what works for you.

Tools for grounding

Earth – Mother earth holds our natural resonance, just by being in nature we recalibrate to our natural state of being, being in our body. Take your shoes off and walk or sit on the ground for 20 minutes, or just lie down on the grass.

Water – All kinds of water will calm the nervous system, the electro-magnetic field and re-align your whole system. A swim in the ocean or the sea in summer or having cold shower or a salt bath at home (espsom salt, Himalayan salt, Sea salt, etc.) have beautiful effects in realigning and grounding.

Crystals & Stones Hold them in your hand, carry them in your pocket or have them beside you or under the pillow at night. Examples of stones & crystals with a grounding effect are; Tourmaline, Shungite, Garnet, Ruby, Hematite, Obsidian, Boji Stones, Labradorite.

Scents – Scent has a direct effect on the limbic system, hence playing a major role for memory, mood and emotions and can alter your state of being instantly. Examples of essential oils with a grounding effect are; Pine, Palo Santo, Cedar, Vetiver, Juniper, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Rosewood, Ginger, Clove, Black pepper, Rosemary, Cypress, Patchouli oil, Elemi, Ylang ylang, and Lavender.

Sound Selected crystal bowls, alchemy bowls and metal bowls emits a sound which grounds you. The root vibrates in harmony to “C” note. Additionally chanting “LAM” will have a positive effect on this chakra.

Colors – The colors red and brown hold grounding frequencies, wear it or have the colors in your surroundings

Food – Root vegetables. E.g. beets, carrots, garlic, ginger, turnips, potatoes, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes and radishes. Beans and nuts. Red food like apples or pomegranates. Raw high quality chocolate can have the same effect.

Movement – all kind of physical movement that redirects our focus to the body is very helpful for grounding.

Affirmation – I am safe in this world. I belong in this world, and am a part of Gaia (mother-earth). I am at peace with my surroundings, with the people and the events that occur.

Visualization/meditation – Body scanning is a wonderful tool. A favorite short meditation is where you put your focus on the feet and feel how they start growing roots through the floor and down deeper and deeper into earth. Imagine how the roots draw up red energy from mother earth that fills your feet, and when you feel that your feet are filled up, let the energy wander up through your body. After doing this meditation a couple of times the grounding will happen faster and stronger. While doing the visualization take deep breathes, when you breathe in feel how you are inhaling new, fresh and light energy – and when breathing out, feel how you are letting go of heavy and used energy that you no longer need. A beautiful way to close the meditation is by thanking mother earth for her help in this transformation.

My journey – Sanna, founder of Bodhish

My short name “Sanna” means true in Swedish, and the search of my own truth has been a red thread throughout my life. I have always had a free spirit living in me, and I remember my childhood in different types of ambiances and atmospheres, highly sensitive, introvert and strong minded, I was not an easy child to understand – even to myself. Growing up I started out walking the “linear path” doing what I thought was expected of me, focusing on the mind and the logic and for a while abandoning my sensitivity and creativity. Even though I was unaware and closed down, looking back I can see how my intuition and inner guidance still made everything so much easier for me, even in the arena of career and business. After a while my closed state started to create a big emptiness and a growing frustration in my being. My awakening started alongside my father’s passing, I felt his soul leaving his body, leaving a shell of his bodily form. His passing started a huge process inside of me, leading me to my own awakening. He did not only give me one life, in his passing he gave me a new life.

The decision and dedication. Since the day I decided to open up, the stream of guides and gifts have been abundant on my path. I believe that the decision and dedication to open up, to find our path and to grow into what we are here to be, is the most important factor on the journey of Self Discovery. First comes the decision, then the process.

The awakening. In the first phase I awakened to myself and my gifts, I learned how to communicate with my higher self and my guides. The gifts, the energy of love and the signs were magnificent, like falling in love and discovering a new world or dimension so much greater than anything I had experienced before.

The clearings. It soon became clear to me that the spiritual world is no different than the world I was used to; the label of the world you are perceiving is irrelevant, it will mirror you in all of your aspects. The mirroring is always there for your own benefit – so that you have the possibility to clear all that needs to be cleared in order to become more of you, more love. Along with all the beautiful gifts and meetings, came the processing of old wounds and blockages. In the beginning it was deep and tough, both physically and emotionally challenging, sometimes involving months of crying. After a while, and along the rising frequencies, the process got easier, it became a rhythm of its own; insight – acceptance – forgiveness – release – expansion. Today this is an integral part of my life. I learned to listen to myself and my own signals. How does it feel when my mind is in overdrive? How does it feel when the ego is getting uncomfortable and the fears are rising? How does it feel when my body is lacking energy – and what fills me up? How does it feel when my heart is open? Where are the different processes going on in my system? In what layer, in the physical body, emotional body, mental body or in the etheric body? What chakra is blocked? I got to be a student of my own growth – and I still am.

The tools. For me shamanism, kundalini yoga and my own spiritual practice in forms of channeling, meditation, group energy work and inner journeys have been the major tools on my journey. Alongside my practices I have welcomed crystals & stones, essential oils, books, journaling, painting, music, dancing, nature and animals as great enablers and supporting tools. My feeling is that new tools are on the way alongside the rising frequencies, so let’s be open to what comes, to new tools for us to use, play and grow with. The most important insight for me is that this journey is not about a secret mystical corridor only open for a few, the journey is open to us all and we choose the tools that feels right for our own journey. In the end It´s all about change, turning the shadows into light and being the change, you want to see in the world.

The silence. After the awakening phase I had a long period of much needed stillness and silence. I dare to say that there will be no deep healing and growth without silence and stillness. And by that, I mean either a long period of stillness and silence, or a regular practice of it, preferably both. How will you ever be able to hear your own inner voice, and heart, without actually listening?

The observer. When you arrive at the point of finding your observer, you have come far. The observer is that space that enables reflection in the moment. For example: While anger is rising in me, I can simultaneously notice what is happening and connect to the anger’s root cause and find out what the trigger is in this situation. This space allows us to shortcut the impulse, and if not stop it, at least be able to reflect upon it shortly afterwards and learn from it.

The energy of Bodhish. I experienced the first meeting with what I call the “Bodhish energy” in 2012. The energy has an “activating-calm” effect on most people, a way of centering us but simultaneously inspire us. The energy also has a way of planting “soul seeds” in people, seeds that act as reminders of your soul purpose in this life. With nourishment and love these seeds will blossom into the most radiant flowers over time. Right now I am in the process of anchoring the Bodhish energy in the space, and every person joining me on this journey are giving their contribution, adding their flavour in the anchoring process. My journey continues together with Bodhish and I am looking forward to the next step.

I am. Labelling in this kind of work is in itself a contradiction. The less labels you carry, the more you can be what you are meant to be. At the same time labels and descriptions help bridge the understanding between people, so here it goes: I am an energy intuitive, a healing facilitator and a space holder. During a session with me I will be your mirror. By using my combination of gifts, I will intuitively guide you forward in the relevant areas of your life. I will invite you to see your life path with new perspectives and more clarity. When needed, I will guide you through a healing process helping you release blockages or fear that hinders your path forward. The intention is that you will leave the session with awakened knowledge of yourself and your own gifts and a deeper connection to yourself. I truly believe that we have all the knowledge we need inside of us, at times we just need someone to help us awaken them from within. To read more about one to one session, read here.

You are your key

Each and every second we choose our life, we might not always perceive it as we have a choice, but on some level, there is always a choice, and we make that choice, conscious or subconscious. The knowledge that we hold our own power and that we are our own master can both be frightening and exhilarating. Our human ego can feel anxiety when we become aware of that the power of our life lies in our own hands, often because we are afraid of making the “wrong” choice and fail. Early on most of us learn that failure is something bad, but from a higher perspective there is no right and there is no wrong when choosing, there is no failure, it is all aspects and it is all potential learnings to grow from. What we call failure is there for us to realize that it is time to change direction.

Early on we learn to avoid all forms of hardship and difficult feelings, parents do their most to keep their children away from all forms of suffering. We create a monster from something that can be a gift, the gift of opening up and discover what a “failure” can teach us. By meeting the “hardship” we can learn what fears we are carrying, we can accept them and let them go, we can allow forgiveness and embrace the expansion of freedom and love that is possible after letting fears and blockages go.

The more we discover ourselves the smoother the ride becomes – that does not mean that the challenges will go away, that would be hindering our growth, but the journey becomes richer, softer and so much more enjoyable. You and only you have the key to your heart, your life path and your choices. We tend to search for the key everywhere and in everyone. We can get a lot of clues from everywhere and everyone but in the end it´s all about you, and most importantly it´s all about listening to yourself. You have the power.
